Move over University of Iowa, ISU is now the biggest school in the state.
The school announced a record enrollment of more than 33,000 students, Wednesday.
It’s the first time they’ve surpassed Iowa in student population since 1979.
The school has seen a 25-percent increase in enrollment in the last seven years.
Some of those students will soon have an out-of-this-world new instructor.
Iowa State grad and retired astronaut Clayton Anderson is joining the school’s engineering faculty.
Anderson has spent 167 days in outer space.
His first day on the Ames campus as a faculty member will come in October.
