The Iowa Department of Transportation is looking for companies to sponsor Iowa’s 37 interstate rest areas.

The DOT says entities may opt to sponsor just one or multiple locations.

A competitive bidding process will be conducted with the minimum bid starting at $7,500 for a three year contract.

Sponsorship will include signs along the highway as well as inside the facility.

The revenue will be deposited into the primary road fund and will help pay for operation costs and facility upgrades.

The funds can also be used for other state highway purposes.
