Central Iowa has landed another big sporting event.
This time it’s the Solheim Cup.
The LPGA version of the Ryder Cup is coming to Iowa in 2017.
The golf tournament sees the United States face Europe every other year with alternating home course advantage.
In 2017, the LPGA will stage it at Des Moines Golf and Country Club in West Des Moines where it’s expected to attract widespread attention and tens of millions of dollars.
A source at Des Moines Golf and Country Club confirmed the news to Channel 13. The LPGA announced a press conference for Monday morning.
