The University of Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Western Michigan Broncos Saturday morning inside Kinnick Stadium.
The game started at 11 a.m. and the Hawkeyes were ready to play. A 20-yard field goal put the Hawkeyes ahead with an early lead of 3-0. With little more than one minute left in the first quarter, the Hawkeyes grabbed another seven points with a touchdown, leading Michigan 10-0.
The second quarter started strong for the Hawkeyes. The team scored touchdown after touchdown with Western Michigan only scoring three points from a 23-yard field goal.
At half-time, the game score stayed in favor of the Hawkeyes, leading 38-3.
The second half of the game slowed down a little for the Hawkeyes but Iowa kept their lead against the Broncos going strong. With two more touchdowns for Iowa, the game score was 52-3 at the end of the third quarter.
But 52 points in the game wasn’t enough for the Hawkeyes. With 11 minutes left in the game, Iowa ran for one more touchdown.
The game ended just after 2 p.m. with a solid win for the Hawkeyes. The final score of the game was 59-3.
