An early morning loud noise first thought to be another storm turned out to be an explosion.

Marshall County officials responded to a 911 call from a neighbor after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

“About 4:15, 4:30 this morning there was an earth shattering Ka-Boom.  I thought it was lightning or thunder so I jumped out of bed but I saw there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.  I came over here, saw the fire and the propane tank and I went back inside and called 911,” said neighbor Raymond Moore.

The explosion happened near Bangor at a crop production services building.  Officials said the explosion happened inside and caused a small fire that crews quickly put out.

The explosion caused significant damage to the building.  No one was injured.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
