Dogs and their owners can come together for a dog-themed day.
Paws in the Park, a dog walk and carnival, will be held on Sunday. The event is a fundraiser for the aHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport program.
The carnival will have dog paw painting, a dog and owner look-a-like contest, dog trick contests and more fun activities for you and your pooch.
For dogs and owners who want to get in their walk, registration is at 9 a.m. with the walk starting at 10 a.m. The walk is $15 per dog, people walk for free.
“All the registration fees go to AHeinz57 to help more dogs, which we hope is a cause many in our community can get behind,” said Director of Adoptions at AHeinz57 Susan Ballard.
“We’re hoping many of the dogs we’ve adopted out attend the walk. We know many of our foster families are hoping to see some of their past foster furkids,” Ballard said.
Paws in the Park will start at 9 a.m. on Sept. 28 at Centennial Park in Waukee. Dogs must be on a six-foot or shorter leash and only two dogs per person.
