Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Fort Madison Monday.

Ft. Madison police were called out on a report of a gunshot in the 1400 block between F and G avenues shortly after 3:00 p.m. When officers arrived they found 25-year-old Matthew Griffiths suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals.

Witnesses told police they saw a silver car leave the area following the gunshot.

Police have now arrested three people they say are connected to the shooting. Twenty-three-year-old Heather Mears and 20-year-old Terrell Wilson are charged with aiding and abetting a first degree robbery.

Twenty-two-year-old Paul Wilkins Jr. is charged with attempted murder and first degree robbery.

All three suspects are from Burlington.

Griffiths is recovering from his injuries.
