According to a national survey Iowans have a one in 73 chance of hitting a deer while driving in the next year.

That puts us as third in the nation.

Only drivers in West Virginia and Montana are more likely to hit a deer. Despite Iowa’s third place ranking, the likelihood of a deer-vehicle collision in Iowa has decline by nine-percent.

Hawaii is the state where you are least likely to hit a deer.

This study is put out by State Farm using information from the Federal Highway Administration.
