Iowa National Guard members are headed west to help Colorado flood victims.

Three guardsmen from Boone left from the Des Moines International Airport Monday morning and others will leave Monday from the Waterloo airport and the Quad Cities area.

Guard Colonel Greg Hapgood says the soldiers include pilots, crew chiefs and aircraft fuelers who will be stationed in Aurora, Colorado, for about 10 days.

Massive flooding on the front range of the Rockies knocked out dozens of roads in and out of the mountains so stranded towns need helicopters to carry medical crews in and stranded patients out.
