October is harvest time, and usually brings with it lower temperatures, and the first freeze.  But this year, the freeze appears to be a little later than usual.
State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says we have been fortunate, "We've been hoping all along, all growing season long, that that first freeze would be delayed quite a bit because of how late things got started. And so far it has."
Hillaker says it looks warm and relatively dry for the next week. He also says there is a small chance of rain.
