Metro realtors say home sales are strong, but not as strong as August’s.

Statistics from the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors show some decline. The new September numbers show homes stayed on the market for 82 days. That’s up by five days from August.

There were also fewer contracts written and closed. In September 940 contract were written and 861 closed. In August, 970 contracts were written and over 1,100 closed.

The median price of homes also dropped by $4,500.

Home sales are still stronger than this time last year.
