Des Moines videogamers won’t have to worry about their friends messing up their living rooms anymore.

A new business called Up Down is opening up in the East Village.

The late night venue has arcade video games from the 80’s and 90’s and 20 varieties of beers on tap.

The owners say they came up with the idea after they saw similar businesses popping up in larger cities.

“It felt like the right time. People seemed really jazzed about those ones and we wanted to do something really similar but also do our own thing,” Josh Ivey said.

The barcade opens Friday evening at 5 p.m. and stays open until 2 a.m.
