An Ottumwa man is in jail after being accused of holding a woman against her will for more than two weeks.

Thirty-three-year-old Adem Anota is charged with first degree kidnapping.

Police say a woman called them on October 10th after she fled Anota’s home saying she was confined against her will from September 24th to October 9th. She also says she was sexually assaulted during that time.

Police executed a search warrant at Anota’s house and found evidence leading to an arrest.

Anota is in the Wapello County Jail on a $150,000 cash only bond.
