MARSHALLTOWN MURDER: Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

One of the men charged in connection to a Marshalltown homicide has pleaded not guilty.

Max Nelson Jr is charged with accessory after the fact, theft and abuse of a corpse. The 55-year old’s trial is scheduled for December.

The charges are related to the death of 59-year-old David Warnell. Warnell’s autopsy shows he died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Jeremy Gartin, 30, is charged with first degree murder.
