OELWEIN SHOOTING: Man Who Allegedly Shot Wife Dies

A northeast Iowa man accused of trying to kill his wife before shooting himself has died.

KWWL reports Oelwein police were called to a home on a report of shots fired Tuesday morning.

Police say 44-year-old Myron Meador walked out of the home with self-inflicted injuries. When officers went inside they found his wife, 38-year-old Niki Meador with multiple gunshot wounds.

They were both airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

Police say Myron died Wednesday night. Niki remains in the hospital, her condition is not known.
