Some Iowans who are against illegal immigration met on the steps of the capitol Saturday afternoon for a rally.
The Iowa Minute-Men held their eighth annual illegal immigration forum and rally on Saturday. Speakers explained why they believe people have been able to come into the country illegally.
The group’s director, Bob Ussery, said he wants Congress to stop the illegal amnesty and focus on enforcing our laws.
“Illegal immigration is a symptom of a bigger problem, which is the loss of national sovereignty. If we lose national sovereignty then we will lose our freedoms in the Bill of Rights,” Ussery said.
The Minute-Men will hold an event next month to honor those killed by illegal immigrants.
