BURGLARY CASE: Public Works Building Hit Again

Police are investigation a burglary at a Des Moines public works building. It’s the second in the last six months.

Police say someone targeted the facility in the 900 block of southeast 22nd Street.

A city employee reported the crime around 4:30 Saturday morning. The employees say someone took an end loader from the parking lot and drove it through a chain link fence.

However it appears the suspect was interrupted and didn’t get away with the machine.

City officials say there are cameras at the facility but they aren’t working.

The same facility was also targeted in May.
