Forget a billboard or newspaper ad, a Desoto man is selling a piece of permanent advertising space on his body.

Levi McDaniel already has dozens of tattoos highlighting his love of pro wrestling, classic cars and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Now, he’s auctioning off a space on his back to the highest bidder.

“I already have over 40 tattoos so I don’t consider this something crazy because it will be going to a good cause,” McDaniel explains.

McDaniel is a semi-pro wrestler in his free time. He says a fellow wrestler joked with him that he should try to make some money off his next tattoo.

But McDaniel saw an opportunity to do some good with the idea. He’ll give up a bare space on his shoulder blade to the highest bidder in an eBay auction with a minimum bid of $2,000.

McDaniel says he’ll agree to whatever the winning bidder wants but he’s hoping for the best.

“I have not set up any rules.  Hopefully I get something I really enjoy but the money is going to a great cause.  I think I’ll be happy with it in the end,” McDaniel says.

McDaniel lost an aunt to cancer just last week. He says he’ll give the money his tattoo raises to her family and to the American Cancer Society.
