Des Moines police say a driver has been cited for his role in an accident involving a motorcycle Thursday morning.

Police were called to the 4400 block of Hubbell around 6:30 a.m.

They say 27-year-old Justin Anderson was headed south on Hubbell on his motorcycle when a car pulled out of a driveway and into his path. Anderson laid the bike down to avoid a collision with the car.

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Anthony Raitt, told officers he did not see the motorcycle.

Paramedics took Anderson to the hospital.  He had a broken arm and some road rash, but he’s expected to be OK.

Raitt was ticketed for unsafe entry onto a highway.
