Another Midwestern rivalry game hit the field today in Iowa City as the University of Iowa Hawkeyes took on the University of Wisconsin Badgers. The game kicked off at Kinnick Stadium just after 11 a.m.
The Hawkeyes are the first team to the scoreboard, snagging a field goal in the first quarter. Iowa takes an early lead over Wisconsin, 0-3.
The second quarter starts and it’s Iowa again. The Hawkeyes score another field goal, leading the Badgers 0-6. But the Badgers fight back, scoring a touchdown in the second quarter. The Badgers now lead the Hawkeyes, 7-6 as the teams head down for half-time.
The second half of the game begins and the Badgers are back at it. Wisconsin scores a touchdown and boosting their lead against Iowa, 14-6.
The Hawkeyes fought back in the fourth quarter, scoring their third field goal of the game, 14-9. But Wisconsin is back with a fight as they score another touchdown against Iowa with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Badgers boost their lead against Iowa, 21-9.
After multiple close attempts at another touchdown, the Badgers finally manage to get the ball in the end zone. With two minutes left in the game, the Badgers lead the Hawkeyes 28-9.
The final score for Saturday’s game ends with another Hawkeye loss, the Badgers take the win 28-9.
