A major development that could bring over a hundred jobs moved one step closer to becoming a reality in Norwalk, Monday.
The Norwalk City Council entered into an initial agreement with Loffredo Fresh Produce to build a $5-$7 million facility in town.
Once completed, it would employ at least 165 people when it opens and could eventually employ 250 people, Norwalk Mayor Doug Pierce said.
The council will hold an Urban Renewal Hearing on December 5th to consider taking the next step towards making the project a reality.
The logistics company is currently based on Des Moines southside and has four other distribution centers across the Midwest.
