OPEN AGAIN: Hotel Pattee Ready For Guests

hotel_pattee

A historic central Iowa hotel is opening its doors again, after being closed for months.

The Hotel Pattee in Perry opens Monday at 4:00 p.m.

The hotel closed in August after the owners defaulted on the mortgage. New owners, Jay and Denise Hartz, took over the hotel in October.

They’ve hired about two dozen new employees and Monday is opening day. Front desk workers say the hotel is opening at 3:00 p.m.

A special dinner is being served Monday night to celebrate.

    I saw Cynthia’s story!!

I’m not a psychic here, but I don’t see it happening here.

Hartz has advertised, which is a good thing, but it’s not gonna be enough.

I don’t want to see what’s on the menu. I want to see how you pre-pare the food, like Machine Shed on T.V.
    That’s what sells!!
    SHOW ME YOU CAN COOK!!!

MY HUSBAND, A NATIVE FROM THE AMANA’S SAYS, ‘WHAT’S IN PERRY TO DRAW TOURIST?? AT LEAST THE AMANA”S HAD SOMETHING, BUT THERE IS NOTHING IN PERRY’!
MY HUSBAND SAYS, ‘MAYBE A WINERY’!!

But people know it’s not gonna go!!

Mrs. Hergert, I would challenge you to try the Hotel Pattee for yourself someday, I am sure you would be pleasantly surprised. The community not only has a vested interest in this hotel financially, but they want to see it succeed. I have personally witnessed several community leaders/residents on their hands and knees polishing the floors and walls on a daily basis. The main difference between Mr. Hartz and the previous owners has been onsite management. Mr. Hartz in there 24/7 making everything goes according to his plan, which is to make this hotel a success. I have also had the opportunity to try Mr. Caes cooking and I can promise you, you won’t be disappointed. The Hotel Pattee is just want the Perry community needs to become a tourist attraction. What more to you need for a weekend getaway with your husband, than a state of the art spa, bowling alley, restaurant, and a place to just relax and unwind. Like my mother always told me, don’t knock it until you try it. I am sure Mr. and Mrs. Hartz would love for you to stop by and say hi!
