The deadline for applications for a program that makes sure children get toys for Christmas will soon come.
The Salvation Army is taking applications for its Christmas Toyland until Friday.
Metro applicants can sign up in person from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Joshua Christian Academy on Garfield Avenue.
Adult applicants need to bring a photo ID, identification for their children, proof of residence and proof of income.
“This is the opportunity for those who are struggling trying to make ends meet and when Christmas comes they find it difficult to buy toys for the children, they can come here and sign up with us, in conjunction with Toys for Tots, we’re able to provide a Christmas for the children,” Mary Corliss explains.
Story County residents can apply at 703 East Lincoln way in Ames.
