Four eastern Iowa students are in the hospital after the bus they were riding in collided with a truck.
The crash happened at about 7:00 Tuesday morning in Clinton. The school district says that all four children were special education students.
Administrators say a truck driving west hit the side of the bus and tipped it over. Crews took all four students to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the bus is okay.
Clinton fire and police both responded to the scene.
“When you investigate a school bus accident, it obviously raises every officer’s response and level of intensity to investigate that accident, and there’s a significant concern for the children on that bus,” says Bill Greenwalt with the Clinton Police Department.
The front end of the pick-up truck was severely damaged. Crews have not said whether that driver was injured or not.
