HAWKEYE FOOTBALL: Purdue Game Highlights

The University of Iowa Hawkeyes played the Purdue Boilermakers Saturday in West Lafayette, Ind.  The game kicked off at 11 a.m. at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The game got off to a slow start with neither team putting points on the scoreboard in the first quarter.

The second quarter kicked off with a Hawkeye touchdown.  With 11 minutes left before half-time, the Hawkeyes led the Boilermakers 7-0.  But Purdue fought back and evened the score.  The Boilermakers scored a touchdown with five minutes left in the second quarter, tying the game at 7-7.

With less than two minutes before half-time, the Hawkeyes take back the lead.  Iowa put up another touchdown against Purdue, leading the game 14-7 as the teams head into half-time.

The third quarter started off slow but with three minutes left, Iowa ran the ball into the end zone.  The Hawkeyes boost their lead against the Boilermakers, 21-7.

The fourth quarter kicks off with a field goal from Iowa.  The Hawkeyes have the lead 24-7.  Five minutes later and the Hawkeyes score another touchdown, leading the Boilermakers 31-7.

With less than three minutes left in the game, Iowa ran the ball into the end-zone for another touchdown.  The Hawkeyes lead the Boilermakers 38-7.  With seconds left in the game, Purdue makes a comeback.  The Boilermakers scored a touchdown with 51 seconds left on the clock, boosting the score to 38-14.

The Hawkeyes bring home the victory, beating the Purdue Boilermakers 38-14.
