New Jersey Governor Chris Christie won his reelection effort with 60 percent of the vote, an impressive feat for a Republican Governor in a mainly Democratic state.
Texas Governor Rick Perry said that he believed one of the bigger impacts on the reelection of Christie was his stance on gay marriage. Perry added that while the reelection of Christie was an important one for the Republican Party, the party should focus less on the 2016 elections and focus more on the upcoming 2014 elections.
Perry said he thought voters needed to take a hard look at who they are electing into office and whether or not they support those opinions. He said that other states need to focus on electing good Governors and strong leaders to their state.
