Texas Governor Rick Perry sat down with Dave Price on the Insiders. Perry is the longest-serving governor in the history of Texas but Perry has already announced that he does not intend to run again for the position.
Perry said that with his past of seeking a presidential bid, he believes the system is a quirky one but one worth learning from and participating in. Perry added that while the 2016 elections are important to think about, the country as a whole needs to think long and hard about the 2014 elections.
With many gubernatorial elections on the ticket for 2014, the American people need to think deeply about who they will support for the position. Perry said he thinks having a good governor makes a big difference to the state.
Perry added that while governors fill an important role in the states that they help govern, governors also make good potential presidential candidates because they deal with much of the same issues, just on a different scale.
