JOB CUTS: Blue Bunny’s Parent Company Reduces Workforce
The company that makes Blue Bunny ice cream is cutting jobs in Iowa.
Wells Enterprises announced Tuesday it is eliminating 58 positions. Dave Smetter, VP of Corporate & Integrated Marketing Communications for the company, says 38 of those jobs are from the company’s Le Mars facility in Iowa. The rest are field sales positions from across the country.
A press release from the company says the cuts are a way to keep on track to becoming the leader in the U.S. ice cream industry during challenging economic times.
Severance packages and outplacement assistance are being offered to those who are losing their jobs.
Wells Enterprises has a total workforce of 2,500.
