CAMPUSTOWN PLANS: Tax Incentive Issues

The Ames city council is moving forward with a plan to redevelop a big chunk of Campustown.

Kingland Systems, an Ames software company, bought nine buildings on Welch Avenue. It plans to demolish the buildings and put up one all-encompassing building in its place.

The council approved the building plans but paused when it came to the tax incentives. The council wants a few modifications made before the final approval.

The matter will be before the council again soon.
