“Homes are selling almost a full month (27 days) faster than they were a year ago,” says Larry Pickering, president of the association.

For October, 877 contracts were written and 907 contracts closed. Homes are also selling for $10,000 more than they did a year ago. The median sale price for October was $160,000.

In October just over 4,100 homes were on the market in the Dallas, Polk and Warren county areas.
