Two men are in the Polk County jail charged with stealing thousands of pounds of copper.

Michael Fisher and Reed Pippen are each charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Police say the men stole at least 2,000 pounds of copper from buildings in recent months. One theft in late October in Johnston saw 3,000 feet of copper wire taken from a new construction.

The charges against the men could grow if police link them to more thefts.

The two men are being held on a $21,000 bond.
