Gov. Terry Branstad is declaring this week Global Entrepreneurship Week in Iowa.
Celebrated by 125 countries during one week in November, it’s the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators who launch start-ups and help drive economic growth.
The governor says it’s a way for the state to help advance small business.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our state’s economy, accounting for 51.3% of private sector jobs,” says Branstad.
Entrepreneurs and innovators can get involved by participating in events scheduled around the state. One of them is in West Des Moines this Wednesday.
