Clouds will increase tonight with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s. It will stay windy tonight. Skies will remain cloudy on Wednesday with a few light showers. Highs will be in the upper 40s.
Thursday a stronger storm system will bring rain across Central Iowa and highs in the lower 40s. Northwest Iowa will see some light snow with more pushing in by Thursday night.
Some light snow will linger across north central Iowa on Friday morning and exit the state. Snowfall amounts in northwest Iowa look to stay near 1 to 2" with some locally higher amounts. There may be a few snowflakes early Friday in Des Moines, but at this point no accumulation looks to happen in the metro.
