ANIMAL CRUELTY: Two Will Not Face Jail Time
Two of the three people accused of torturing and neglecting a dog in eastern Iowa will not spend time behind bars.
AJ Sellers and Kelsey Block both entered in a plea deal after pleading guilty in the case.
The state agreed to drop the animal torture charge and the judge deferred the sentence for the animal neglect charge the sentence. Sellers and Block received one year of probation and a $315 fine.
Back in February, crews found the dog dead and covered in feces, in a crate on the side of a rural road.
Ty Hickman will have a separate trial in January. Hickman claimed he left the dog with Sellers and Block in January until they could find a new home for it.
