The Drake University basketball program is getting an extreme makeover.

Officials bundled up warmly for the groundbreaking ceremony at the corner of 25th and Forest on Saturday morning.

The university is building a basketball practice facility.  The 39,000-square-foot facility will include two full-sized courts, locker rooms, video suites and meeting space.  The basketball practice facility is expected to cost $8-million.

Construction of the new facility is expected to finish by the fall of 2014.
