Cyclone football player David Irving will go on trial next month for allegedly assaulting a woman last month.

Irving is charged with domestic abuse.

The Iowa State junior is accused of attacking the mother of his child with scissors on November 13.

The woman says he cut her hair with scissors. She suffered cuts and bruises during the assault.

Irving entered a written not guilty plea in court Monday. The defensive lineman’s trial is set for January 28.
