POLICE STANDOFF: Eagle Grove Man Arrested
Eagle Grove officers were kept busy with a nearly 4-hour standoff, Monday.
It started when a woman called police saying she was assaulted by her son. When officers arrived at the home at 115 Cadwell Avenue the suspect refused to come out.
Police blocked off the road and a nearby school was put on lockdown as a precaution.
The suspect, David Vrba, eventually surrendered without incident. He is charged with three counts of assault.
“It was just scary because he comes over and talks to my kids so that kind of scared me but I know he’s harmless, I mean it just scared everybody in the town,” neighbor Whitney Willard said.
Police did seize at least one firearm from the home but say Vrba never threatened anyone with the weapon.
Vrba is in the Wright County Jail on a $2,000 Bond.
