An Iowa State Trooper was placed on administrative leave after an officer-involved shooting on Sunday morning.

Around 7 a.m. police tried to pull a man over for driving a stolen SUV in Council Bluffs, police said.

The man took off reaching speeds of 100-miles-per-hour.  During the chase, a trooper’s car went into a ditch.

The suspect tried to run him over and that’s when the officer fired multiple shots, officials said.  The suspect’s SUV rolled onto its side and the driver was taken into custody with non-life threatening injuries.
