The family of two young brothers who died in an icy pond last weekend are getting help paying with their memorial fund.

Wednesday night a charity auction was held in Creston to help the families of TJ and Nate Frey.

The Creston News Advertiser reports a single calf was auctioned off then donated to be auctioned again and again.

When the gavel dropped on the final sale, $53,000 was raised for the family. They plan to donate the money to St. Malachy School.

The boys died Saturday after falling through the ice on a pond near their home in Prescott.

Their funeral will be held this Saturday in Creston.
