If you’re trying to stay warm in the December cold, Bucs Arena isn’t the place to do it. But that’s not keeping many people out including two-time Stanley Cup champion, Bobby Holik.

The retired New Jersey Devil paid his way to Des Moines and is volunteering his time to give back to the future of hockey.

“He called out the blue and said ‘hey I’d like to come work for the junior team and I’ll pay all my own expenses and do my own thing,’” head coach Jon Rogger explains. “I’m still waiting for the catch but right now he just loves the game that much and wants to give back to the kids.”

You can watch the Des Moines Buccaneers Friday night. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
