PEARL HARBOR: Flags At Half-Staff For Remembrance

Governor Branstad is asking Iowans to lower their flags to half-staff in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day weekend.

Branstad ordered all flags at the Capitol, Capitol Complex and all public building and grounds be lowered from 5 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Monday morning.

Everyone else is encouraged to do the same.

Saturday is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. A ceremony will be held at the World War Two memorial Saturday at 11:40 am.

AMVETS is holding a lunch after the service at its post on Fifth Avenue in Des Moines.
