A fund has been set up for the Marshall County woman who was beaten up when she attempted to help two people at the side of the road.

The Marshall County sheriff’s department is looking for the two suspects they say robbed and beat Stephanie Phelps last week.

Authorities say she pulled over to help what she thought were two stranded drivers. When she got out, she says the two attacked her, knocked her unconscious and stole gifts from her truck in including Christmas presents for her grandchildren.

Sheriff’s officials are warning everyone to be cautious when helping anyone on the side of the road.

Checks and donations can be mailed or dropped off to the fund at Central State Bank at State Center.
