Cars and trucks struggled on the roads after Sunday's snowstorm but airplanes were cleared for takeoff.

The Des Moines International Airport did not report any flight delays due to the snowy weather.  Officials said that because the snow was so light, crews were able to simply push the snow off the runways.

For one problem, the problem is not the weather here in Des Moines, but the weather down in Houston, Texas.

"From what we've seen here it's 10 hours of standstill traffic.  It's icy and snowy and a freezing fog advisory," said Houston resident Darice Whatley.

"I've never even heard of a freezing fog advisory, so that should be fun," Whatley said.
