The Grand Avenue bridge linking Des Moines and West Des Moines will open this weekend.
The city engineer in charge of the project says three lanes of the bridge will open Saturday morning.
The project began in March when the old bridge was shut down in order for crews to demolish it. The new bridge was originally set to open on September 9th but several construction delays forced the date back.
The opening date of Saturday is dependent on no further delays because of weather.
