Students at a metro high school are trying to raise money for a local cause this holiday season.

Ankeny High School students and the Marines sponsored a charity dodge ball tournament for Toys for Tots.

In order to participate, each group of students had to bring a minimum of eight toys.

The games included contests between teachers against teachers, or teachers against students.

Teachers say they have a certain strategy for beating the kids.

“Try not to get hurt by those kids who are 20 or 30 years younger than us. So we’ll see what happens,” Dainne Rohrer hoped.

In the end the students won.
