Residents in Waukee will make a multimillion dollar decision on the future of their schools in February.

This week the Waukee school board approved a special election to vote on an $18-million bond referendum.

The money would be used to build a new elementary school and make upgrades to another school.

The vote is scheduled for February 4 and requires a super-majority of 60-percent to pass.
