A Creston man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Corning.

Police were called to the Casey’s when they say Peter Wiley shot at a woman in her vehicle while she was driving Tuesday evening.

Wiley fled. But the 32-year-old suspect’s vehicle was spotted Wednesday morning by an officer who attempted to stop it. A short pursuit ended when the Creston man slid his car in to a ditch.  The vehicle then caught fire, according to police.

Wiley was apprehended but suffered burns to his hands. He was treated and taken to Adams County Jail.

Wiley faces charges of attempted murder and felon in possession with a firearm.  DCI are also investigating if Wiley shot his brother in Page County earlier Tuesday evening.
