The EPA proposal to reduce the ethanol mandate is not enough for some legislators. Today, two senators introduced a bipartisan bill to remove the ethanol mandate.

California Democrat Diane Feinstein and Oklahoma Republican Tom Coburn say the policy promoting corn-based ethanol is misguided because it pushes food prices higher while not benefiting the environment.

Proponents of the ethanol mandate disagree, they say ethanol is a clean fuel that reduces dependance on foreign oil and benefits the economy.
