There is good news for Iowa budget planners.

The state’s Revenue Estimating Conference released its projected numbers Thursday. The REC says the state will collect $7 billion in taxes and fees in fiscal year 2015.

By law the governor must base his budget on that figure.

Senate Appropriations Chair Bob Dvorsky says, “It appears that the 2014 session of the Iowa Legislature will have enough resources to balance the state budget, boost job-creation efforts, and invest in middle class families.”
