The city of Johnston is hoping to improve NW 70th Avenue.

The city held a public meeting on Dec. 4 at the library to discuss the potential improvements to the road.  Johnston is interested in developing the area for when the city builds a new high school in the area.

The city is gathering input from residents on the possibility of improving NW 70th Avenue from the west city limits to NW 86th Street.  Along with general information on the project, a proposed project schedule was presented at the meeting.

Johnston is urging residents to provide feedback about the project while they continue to design plans for the area.  The next public meeting is expected to be held in February 2014.

Residents who have questions about the project or would like to subscribe to updates from the project can do so by emailing the city of Johnston at
